SPACE
Space helps express your inner self and how you feel depending on where you are and whats around you.
You perceive space, this is your sense of what you see, touch, taste, and hear all combined. "Perception is a salad of your senses." It's about being highly observant sensitive and aware. This is related to your feelings while being alone compared to downtown Toronto. You need space to create form whether its the illusion of the painting or form of a sculpture. Typically, the figure is the positive space and the background is the negative space in art.

Dimension*
Length, width, size, how many ways you can look at something. if something has depth to it (2D, 3D)
3D is when something is real or pops out at you creating the illusion. Dimension helps determine texture outside of perimeter, volume, area and angles. You can make a 2D object 3D by adding depth. Use value, Dimension is a measurable extent.
Edouard Manet (1832-1883) Is one of the most famous and popular artists to this day. The majority of his images were flat and didn't have much depth in anything. The backgrounds remained remotely plain with much simplicity. He often created a vibe of isolation through his art or making the main idea really stand out.
In some of his work he used many colours that came together to contrast nicely adding more detail to the work.
